I became involved in guinea pig rescue through my very dear friend Claire Love, who ran Secondchance Guinea Pig Rescue. Claire closed due to family circumstances, but we now combine our efforts to provide what we believe is a centre of excellence for all things Guinea Pig.

The rescue came about through the recognition of the amount of unwanted pet guinea pigs needing homes and our aim is to ensure all guinea pigs coming into our rescue have a forever home.

Our rescue ethos is to :
Promote Guinea Pig welfare and care through effective public education and interaction
Educate the public on the responsibilities of Guinea Pig ownership
Educate the public on correct care and health needs of a Guinea Pig
Ensure all our rescued Guinea Pigs have a loving forever home with a companion
Educate the public on the responsibilities of breeding
Our rescue statement on breeding Guinea Pigs:
The rescue came about through the recognition of the amount of unwanted pet guinea pigs needing homes. Our aim is to ensure all guinea pigs entering our rescue have the chance of a forever home.A rescue should be a safe haven for all unwanted Guinea Pigs with a strict no breeding policy.
Pucker up them lips Peaches !
We are not a huge rescue and it is run around full time work and family committments.
Our aim is never to turn a Guinea Pig in need away, and on the occasions when we are fit to bursting we do " triage" to ensure the most needy and sick animals are given priority. For example, owners who have healthy animals but have just lost interest will be offered a place as soon as a foster home can be allocated. You will be asked to bring your Guinea Pig in for pre assessment. I am sure all Guinea Pig lovers will agree this is a fair and sensible system.
I understand lots of circumstances arise which, can lead to a Guinea Pig needing a new home.We are not here to judge, just help you and your Guinea Pig move on, so please get in touch, likewise if you are considering a Guinea Pig please consider adopting from our rescue.
