Out and about with Elvis and Pudding ...rescue events and blog.

Welcome to the rescue monthly blog. It gives you an taste of what we get up to :)

January / February

We lost "The Legendary Greg" at the beginning of February,it was very sad but happy that he was reunited with all his friends at Rainbow Bridge, rest in peace Gregory xxx

Well i am not very happy at the minute !! as my bad back persists, but my wonderful team are helping me through. Its been very busy for the last two weeks, lots of piggie dating enquiries. We have seen Ginger paired with his new companion and Moonpig a previous resident very happy with Olivia after her hubby Yoshi passed away.Thats what makes the down times up !!!!

We have had several new arrivals, two pairs of boars from a large rescue down south. We are members of the Guinea Pig Forum and were very happy to be part of their big coordinated rescue involving the RSPCA and 15 other rescues. They needed lice treatment but otherwise are gorgeous long hair pet boars,in need of TLC.

A couple of weeks ago we had Lavendar a 2 year old  breeding sow brought into the rescue via a local vets. She had been brought in for euthenasia !!! due to bumble foot. The owner was a breeder. The vets were not happy and contacted us.They have provided antibiotics and Lavendar is making a great recovery at Claires. If you cant keep your Guinea Pigs and pay for medical treatment then dont breed them in the first place !!! This incident made us all quite upset.

A big thanks to Rogers, Brock and Barker Vets xxx

Great news Milo and Samson have gone to a new lovely forever home with Jayne and Joanne, they were with us for 4 months.
